Overview: In 2011, Human Computing’s Peter Bickford had the opportunity to head the user experience effort for TiVo’s new line of streaming video products. TiVo’s challenge was the bring the DVR pioneer’s reknowned ease of use to a hardware platform which needed to operate both as a diskless standalone box, and as a seamless part of a whole-home media sharing solution.

As the interface lead on a large, cross-functional product team, Bickford led the effort to address everything from hardware design issues to screen design, testing, installation flows, and acceptance for both the diminutive TiVo Preview (pictured below), to the quad-tuner, top-of-the-line TiVo Premiere Elite (marketed as the TiVo Premiere Q through Charter and other MSOs).
